== Gesamtcoliforme Bakterien ==&lt;br /&gt;
Hierbei handelt es sich um Anzeigerkeime. Diese Bakterien, die sowohl im Darm als auch in der freien Natur vorkommen, können sich im Gegensatz zu den Fäkalcoliformen vermehren, wenn sie genügend Nahrungsstoffe vorfinden. Ähnlich wie die Fäkalcoli sind auch die gesamtcoliformen Bakterien keine eigentlichen Infektionserreger. In offenen Wunden siedeln sie sich ebenfalls gerne an. Es kommt dann zu Vereiterungen. Der wesentliche Grund für die Suche nach diesen Keimen liegt darin, dass man auch bei ihrer Vermehrung abschätzen kann, dass möglicherweise andere krankheitserregende Darmkeime im Wasser vorliegen.&amp;lt;ref name=&amp;quot;isa&amp;quot;&amp;gt;ISA – Institut für Siedlungswasserwirtschaft der RWTH Aachen&amp;lt;/ref&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;

Die Konzentration an gesamtcoliformen Bakterien bemisst sich in der Regel in CFU/100 ml,  nach dem fbr in CFU/ml!&lt;br /&gt;

==Fäkalcoliforme Bakterien = thermotolerante Coliforme und E. coli==&lt;br /&gt;
Dies sind Bakterien, die normalerweise im Darm von Menschen und Säugetieren vorkommen und hier in der Regel harmlos sind. Außerhalb des menschlichen Körpers – speziell im Badewasser – vermehren sich diese Keime nicht. Deswegen sind sie ein brauchbarer Anzeiger für Verunreinigungen durch menschliche Ausscheidungen. Die Anwesenheit von Fäkalcoli lässt gleichzeitig auch auf andere Erreger schließen, die ebenfalls im Darm vorkommen können. Wenn umgekehrt keine Fäkalcoli im Badewasser gefunden werden, so kann man ziemlich sicher sein, dass auch keine anderen gefährlichen Darmkeime vorliegen.&amp;lt;ref name =&amp;quot;isa&amp;quot; /&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;

Ein positiver Nachweis von Enterokokken zeigt die hohe Wahrscheinlichkeit einer fäkalen Verunreinigung an. Die Keime vermehren sich kaum im Wasser und sind Indiz für eine länger zurückliegende Kontamination. Sie sind besonders chlorresistent.&lt;br /&gt;

==Pseudominas aeruginosa==&lt;br /&gt;
Es ist ein weitverbreiteter Boden- und Wasserkeim und kann aus Pflanzen, Früchten, Lebensmitteln und dem Darmtrakt von Mensch und Tier isoliert werden. In der Hygiene gilt es als bedeutender nosokomialer Keim und Lebensmittelverderber und kann in Leitungswasser, Waschbecken, Spülmaschinen, Medikamenten und Desinfektionsmitteln vorkommen.&lt;br /&gt;
